2016 Events:

February 19th: “The Snow Queen: A Tale of Compassion and Courage” (lecture and discussion).  Sponsored by the Kansas City Friends of Jung.  7:00-9:00 p.m., Roeland Park Community Center: 4850 Rosewood Drive, Roeland Park, KS.  Fee: $20.00 (members of the Friends of Jung, $15.00).  To register, go to  You may also pay at the door.

February 17, 24, March 2, 9, and 16: “Introduction to the Gospel of Thomas.”  This class will be presented at Grace and Holy Trinity Cathedral in downtown Kansas City Missouri (corner of 13th and Broadway) as part of their Wednesday night Lent program.  All are welcome!  There is no charge.  Class is from 6:30-8:00.  To register for the class, contact Jerry Grabher at or 816-590-6205.  (If you want to participate in the full program, there is a Contemplative Eucharist at 5:30 and a simple meal at 6:00.)  Website for the Cathedral is  Description of class: In the Egyptian desert in 1945, two peasant brothers stumbled upon the find of a century: a collection of ancient documents that would revolutionize our understanding of early Christianity.  In this library of documents is the Gospel of Thomas, a collection of Jesus’ sayings that has puzzled and fascinated scholars since they have been available for study.  This series will cover the gospel’s origin, authorship, and historical background – and together we will explore the meaning that these “lost words” can have for us today.
